President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on August 20, 2010 chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting was held with the participation of the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat.
Presenting the agenda, the President said that the priority issues of the national policy including the further development of the agro-industry complex as one of the basic sectors of the national economy and the progress in picking cotton and sowing winter crops would be considered during the meeting.
In Particular, Vice Premier D. Orazov reported on the work carried out in the construction sector to fulfill the Turkmen leader’s instructions. In particular, the Vice Premier reported on the measures taken to improve the vicinities of Ashgabat, including the Choganly residential district and the expansion of production of environmentally friendly building materials in the country. Demonstrating the slides of 90 bridges under construction along the highways Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat-Dashoguz, Ashgabat-Mary, Turkmenabat-Farab, D. Orazov noted that most of them were ready for operation. Also, the Vice Prime Minister reported on International Exhibition “Construction in Turkmenistan-2010” that had brought together participants representing over 130 Turkmen and foreign companies in Ashgabat.
Touching upon the exhibition and conference being held in Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that this international forum would further strengthen mutually advantageous cooperation in the construction industry that would facilitate adopting advanced technologies in the country and promote the qualitative growth of Turkmen construction companies.
Acting Vice Premier in charge of oil and gas, chemical and fishing industries, Ya. Kakayev reported on the preparations for the international exhibition and scientific conference “Avaza” towards new heights of creation, construction and development, which would bring together specialists of numerous companies from Europe, the CIS states, the United States and other countries.
Touching upon the international exhibition and conference on the priorities of the development of the Avaza national tourism zone, the President demanded that the high level of organisation of these forums aimed at giving a new impetus to develop the tourism industry and intensify fruitful cooperation with foreign partners be ensured.
Balkan Velayat Khyakim S. Satlykov reported on the progress of the construction of social, economic, cultural, communications and other facilities in the towns of Serdar and Bereket launched in accordance with the Resolutions of the President of Turkmenistan. Also, S. Satlykov reported on the activities conducted in the Avaza national tourism zone and cultural events organized for holidaymakers.
Noting that the construction of many facilities in Balkan Velayat was behind of schedule, the Turkmen leader instructed S. Satlykov to analyze this issue thoroughly. The President focused on the need to launch the construction of a new town in the maritime region and new facilities in the Avaza national tourism zone.
The President informed that he was going to visit Balkan Velayat in early October, where he would attend the ceremonies of opening social and cultural facilities and see the progress of the construction work in the region. The President said that the preparations for the International Exhibition and Conference “Avaza: towards new heights of creation, construction and development” scheduled for September 6-8 should have been started today.
Other important issues of the national policy were considered and the documents were signed during the governmental meeting.
