New Modern Town to be built in Turkmenistan

At Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on February 3 the social and economic achievements of the country in January, the drafts of important documents and other state policy issues were considered.
There were noted that the production of electricity, natural gas, oil, liquefied gas, polypropylene, iodine, plastic pipes, reinforcement and steel articles, garment, medicinal cotton, medications, footwear, fish products, flour, bread and bakery products and agricultural products increased.
The President signed at the Meeting the Resolutions on the Construction of the New Modern Town of Abadan and the Construction of a New, Modern Village in Ruhabat Etrap in Ahal Velayat, and said the implementation of these legal acts would inaugurate a new phase of the large-scale reforms in the epoch of great changes.
The construction of new Abadan town is to start in 2012. To implement this project the Ministry of Construction is to establish the Directorate of Building Projects that is responsible for conducting the international tender for construction and erection work.
In accordance with the general plan, the construction project is to be implemented in three phases. The first phase is to be completed in 2012-2020, the second and third phases in 2020-2030.
The construction of a new village in the territory of Yasmansalyk Gengeshlik in Ruhabat Etrap is to start in March 2012. In accordance with the general plan, a 400-hectare area on the northern bank of the Karakum River is allocated for the new village in Ruhabat Etrap. Comfortable apartment houses and social and cultural facilities are to be built there. This project is to be completed in June 2016.
Other issues were considered during the meeting, and the decisions were adopted.
Foreign construction companies intending to develop mutually beneficial partnerships may participate actively in the implementation large-scale urban development programs deployed in Turkmenistan and to develop the building sector of Turkmenistan as well.
They are welcome to exhibit their best advantages and projects, to present modern developments and technologies at the 4th International exhibition “Turkmen Construction 2012” and present scientific conference “Development of Construction Industry of Turkmenistan” on August 23-25, 2012, which could result in making certain contracts and building projects in Turkmenistan.
