Perspective view of Cooperation of Turkmenistan and European Community.

Turkmenistan and European specialists are having constant exchange of experience including international exhibitions, held in the city of Ashgabat. From December 7 to December 9 2009 the Turkmen capital will hold the International Exhibition and Conference “Basic Trends of Development of the Electric Power Industry of Turkmenistan 2009”.

The Exhibition and Conference 2008 was attended by the companies from22 countries of the world, where such companies as American “General Electric”, German “Siemens”, Turkish Lotus enerji”,  U.A.E. Dubai “West FSE”, Israeli COMPAX INTERNATIONAL, Russian “Technopromexport”, JSC “Hydromasdervice”, and other well-known companies took part.

Comprehensive cooperation and intensification of mutually-beneficial and equal rights relations with the countries of European Community is the priority trend of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan.

According to the Internet-newspaper “Turkmenistan, the golden age”, on July 30 during the visit of the representative delegation of European Community to the Turkmen capital as the result of the interest in the present state and perspectives of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Community Countries, the exchange of opinions a number of meetings took place.

During the discussion of practical realization of the previous agreements, the necessity to improve and expand  the present agreed upon basis on cooperation was stressed, along with further realization of joint projects and programs, and holding regular meetings, talks, interdepartmental consultations that will allow to distinguish the most urgent trends of joint work. Special attention was paid to the theme of furthering close cooperation in the sphere of trade and economy.
 
The important theme of the meetings and talks was the question of partnership in the fuel and energy sphere. The mutual interest in its development Turkmenistan and European Community fixed in a special Memorandum on mutual understanding and cooperation in the field of energy industry in last May.
