From the Sitting of Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 14.
Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the progress in drafting the 2010-2015 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the new programme of cooperation playing the role of the basic document of further collaboration between Turkmenistan and the largest international organisation would create powerful incentives to successfully implement the large-scale programmes that had the common aim – actively contribute to development of independent neutral Turkmenistan.
The Vice Premier reported that the report prepared by the IMF expert group that had been on a working visit to Turkmenistan had been approved at the meeting of the Board of the International Monetary Fund. The IMF experts had highly evaluated the ongoing economic and financial reforms in Turkmenistan and the measures taken on the initiative of the Turkmen leader to mitigate an impact of global crisis on the national economy including establishment of the Stabilizing Fund. The IMF experts had forecasted the further steady progress of Turkmenistan and enhancement of its prestige as the country most attractive for investments.
Vice Premier D. Orazov reported on the preparations for the Turkmengurlyshik-2009 international exhibition and the Development of Construction Industry of Turkmenistan in the Epoch of New Revival international scientific conference which would bring together the representatives of over 100 foreign companies and businessmen from all over the world in Ashgabat.
Focusing on the need to hold the sectoral exhibitions and conference on a regular basis Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that these forum accumulated the best international practices and achievements and provided an opportunity to establish fruitful business contacts. The President said that an increased number of new potential partners among the participants of the forums in Ashgabat vividly illustrated increased interest in dynamically developed Turkmenistan that was open for mutually advantageous cooperation and new joint projects initiated in the framework of the large-scale projects and programmes.
The other issues of the national policy were considered and the relevant decisions were adopted.
