NewsAshgabat hosts Turkmentel-2009 telecommunication forum17.09.2009 
III international telecommunications, telemetry, informational technology and broadcast equipment exhibition Turkmentel-2009 and the Turkmenistan and Global Telecommunications System Conference has opened at the Exposition Center today. The organizers of the large-scale international forum initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov are the Ministry of Communication, the Academy of Sciences and the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Turkmenistan.
During three days the exhibition will showcase telecommunication innovations, the recent trends in development of the industry and most remarkable achievements of the state-run and private companies from Turkmenistan and the foreign countries. The forum participants and guests will have an opportunity to exchange ideas, find new partners and identify the ways to promote new products to international market.
The international forum of telecommunications and communication manufacturers brought together the Turkmen companies of different forms of ownership and about 60 foreign companies from 20 countries worldwide including Russia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the United States, Cyprus, the UAE, Austria, China, Georgia, Lithuania, Iran.
A great number of the Turkmen companies and firms that successfully operate on the telecommunication, communication, computer and technology market participate in the forum. The scale and dynamics of the large-scale telecommunication programs launched on the initiative of the Turkmen leader set the important tasks to Turkmen telecommunications workers. In recent years the telephone exchanges throughout the country were modernized, fibre-optic lines were laid between Ashgabat and the velayat centres, satellite networks effectively function and the mobile network was extended. The increasing needs of the enterprises and population in the telegraph and telex communication services are met. The educational establishments are supplied with multi-service voice, data and video networks. The functional advantages of the high-speed internet are made available to a greater number of users.
The scientific conference will be conducted within the framework of the Turkmentel-2009 Expo. The sectoral experts and scientists, the heads of the telecommunication agencies and renowned foreign counterparts will make presentations at the forum. The scientific forum will be an opportunity to receive the information on the current state and further development of communication sector, exchange experience, discuss the important aspects of cooperation and identify the forms of further collaboration and investment potential.
Upon completing three-day forum the participants will receive the diplomas and international certificates.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the welcoming statement to participants of III international telecommunications, telemetry, informational technology and broadcast equipment exhibition Turkmentel-2009 and the Turkmenistan and Global Telecommunications System Conference.
Congratulating the participants on opening the form the Turkmen leader expressed belief that during the days of the exhibition and conference telecommunications specialists would work out the effective ways to further develop and expand existing relationships and the find the solutions for the urgent issues related to international communication systems.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan and its telecommunication systems were always open for positive cooperation with different countries worldwide and wished the international forum contributed to strengthening the ties of friendship and fraternity between the nations of the world and further expanding international partnership.
