The tasks of revival and renovation of the country is indissolubly linked with the establishment of the spiritual traditions bequeathed to the Turkmen people by their ancestors in the society. A symbol of the unbreakable unit of the nation is inviolable national unity is Hatyra guni (Memory Day) traditionally celebrated on January 12. Addressing the clergy and elders, the Turkmen leader, who took part in the ceremony of commemorating the courageous defenders of the Geokdepe fortress, said that the ancestors’ lofty spiritual traditions should be carefully preserved and handed down to descendants as the true guides to multiply the ideals of humanism that were intrinsic of our people. It was these humane ideals the Turkmen leader followed taking the decision to send US$ 500,000 in humanitarian aid to the people of Haiti, who had suffered devastating losses to natural disaster.
