Heavy Oil World MENA 2010
21.04.2010
National oil companies in the Middle East are rapidly advancing plans for the commercial development of previously un-extractable heavy oil reserves.
The recent creation of a joint venture between BAPCO & Occidental to form Tatweer Petroleum to increase production from heavy oil reserves in the Bahrain Field is just the latest in a raft of MENA examples of partnerships to develop heavy oil fields.
Earlier this year Kuwait began the selection process for contractors to help develop heavy oil projects in the countries northern fields. With globally advanced projects at Wafra in the PNZ and Mukhaizna in Oman it is clear that development of these difficult to produce reserves is fast becoming a commercial reality.
National Oil Companies are looking for contractors to help develop reserves.
The region is suffering from a chronic shortage of technical expertise in the development of heavy oil fields. Heavy Oil World MENA arrives on May 31 to unite National Oil Companies with the latest solutions, contractors and project partners.
National oil company executives will showcase their latest strategic plans and partnership opportunities to help develop reserves.
