Turkmenistan health system under discussion
21.04.2010
On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the heads of the central and velayat health care institutions conducted an enlarged meeting at the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan to discuss the issues related to implementing the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the activities of the health care institutions in Turkmenistan.
With the view to put new healthcare facilities built in the Turkmen capital into operation and ensure the effective management of these institutions the Resolution authorizes to liquidate as legal entities the Central dermatovenerologic dispensary, the Tuberculosis Centre, the National AIDS Centre, the Blood Bank and the Ashgabat City Hospital of Infectious Diseases as legal entities and affiliate them with the Administration of the Infectious Disease Centres of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.
The medical scientists and other specialists noted that Turkmenistan had built the modern health system that proved its affordability and effectiveness during the years of independence. The key priorities in this sphere are met under the Health National Programme.
Turkmenistan has gained the rich experience based on the national traditions as well as through studying and adopting advanced technologies. During the years of independence the complex infrastructure of modern medical institutions including medical centres and clinics supplied with state-of-the-art equipment has been created in the country.
Each year the diagnostic and health centres are put into operation, and construction of new large medical facilities is launched throughout the country. Recently, the International Centre for Head and Neck Diseases, the Oncology Centre and a number of sanatoria and resort facilities including Archman and Yylsuv and the Bayramali Nephritic Sanatorium have been put into operation.
Turkmenistan takes the successive steps to further expand cooperation with the authoritative foreign partners on modernization of the national health system, prevention and control of diseases, development of medical science and wide adoption of innovative methods and technologies. The innovative technologies such as telemedicine are actively adopted in the country that allows performing ‘on-line’ surgeries in particular.
The exhibition committee has the honor to invite the companies operating in the medical and pharmaceutical market of Turkmenistan as well as those interested in co-operation with Turkmenistan to take part in the International Exhibition that, in our opinion, will present the latest achievements in the sphere of healthcare, to create the prerequisites to further mutually advantageous co-operation, to demonstrate the parties’ investment opportunities.
